Take the new tram link from Torre del Mar and you will end up in Vélez-Málaga, which is steeped in history and scattered with important churches and monuments.
The town is still very Spanish and the town consists of two parts; the old town and the new town.

The old town is made up of typically Andalusian white washed houses (some of which are crumbling away due to their age) and narrow cobbled streets, some not even wide enough to drive down.

In the new town you will find the shops, bars, restaurants and park and garden areas.

Vélez-Málaga is currently being developed a lot and there are rumours that a Formula 1 racetrack is going to be built around the outskirts of the town.
