A decade ago Torre del Mar was nought more than a sleepy fishing village, but nowadays it is a bustling typically Spanish working town. Every shop and business you can possibly think of is within walking distance and it is expanding all the time.
In recent years more and more English businesses have opened in the town to accommodate for the needs of the increasing number of expats choosing to relocate there.

The beach in Torre del Mar is very popular and the promenade, which stretches all the way to Caleta de Velez, has been dubbed the longest in Spain. The Paseo de Larios is a pedestrianised road, which is a haven of activity in the summer months. Throughout the last weekend in July a huge funfair arrives in Torre del Mar and Spanish tourists arrive in droves to swap the unbearable inland heat for the cooler coastal setting.
