Powercuts are commonplace in Spain and they turn up at the unlikeliest of times - almost always when you least expect them or least want them.
I have found the electricity goes off when I am either
a) ten minutes away from tucking into the tastiest home cooked dinner in the world, which took half an hour of chopping, 20 minutes of stirring and 15 minutes of watching (plus 20€ of ingredients)
b) during the crucial moment of a film, eg, when you are about to find out who is the real serial pyscho killer or
c) when you are about to begin a chore involving vast amounts of light, like plucking your eyebrows.
