Garlic. If you eat a traditional Spanish dish remember to buy some mints. The chances are it contains a reasonable amount of garlic, which is a good thing, as the health benefits it brings are plentiful.
Apart from zapping bacteria and warding off nasty coughs and colds, garlic also helps to lower blood pressure and prevents cancer.
Tip: If you’re prone to mozzie bites scoff your face with the stuff.
Andalucía
Apart from the 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, miles of beaches and beautiful mountain ranges, what else attracts us to this culture rich area of Spain?
For me it wasn’t the powercuts, water shortages or shellfish con ojos.
In fact it was that ‘mañana mañana’ attitude which most of us have grumbled about at some stage, especially when we have waited an extra
eight-and-a-half days for the washing machine to arrive.
However, this is the very thing that makes Andalucia so fantastic - a place to relax and immerse ourselves in the chilled-out ways of life.
Who cares if the washing machine even takes an extra ten days to arrive?
An excuse to go and buy some new clothes after all...
